Finding the Garvan Institute of Medical Research

Garvan is located next to St Vincent's Hospital on the corner of Victoria and Burton Streets in Darlinghurst, approximately 2 kms from the centre of Sydney.

Access to Garvan by public transport is relatively simple. Bus routes 389 and 311 stop on Burton Street, and buses 378, 380, L82 and 382 stop nearby on Oxford Street. King's Cross Station is also a short walk from Garvan, exit the station towards William Street and continue walking up Victoria St.

If you are driving, metered parking is limited but available along Victoria St, and there is a parking station at St Vincent's Hospital.

If you wish to drop off items at Garvan’s loading dock, please notify us in advance. An external telephone unit is available at the terrace door (up the stairs next to the loading dock). During business hours (8.00am-5.30pm Mon-Fri) dial #1 to contact reception. After hours (5.30pm-6.00am and weekends) dial #2 to contact security. From 6.00am-8.00am Mon-Fri dial #3 to contact stores.
