Personalised Medicine
The explosion of genetic information about subtypes of cancer is generating exciting possibilities for the development of personalised approaches to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, and Garvan researchers are the leading the way.
Personalised medicine combines knowledge of the underlying biology of a cancer and the unique aspects of a patient to determine the most appropriate treatment for that person.

'The Genetic Generation: Designer Babies’ is a public forum exploring the latest insights on new reproductive technologies and their implications on our society. You can now choose your baby’s sex and screen for genetic diseases. Is eye colour, intelligence or athletic prowess next? How far is too far?
Cost is $20 per person which goes towards supporting a young scientist's research at the Garvan through the Young Garvan Fellowship.
